Happy late summer, all! I am putting the finishing touches on preparation to support Finish Line Ultra Crewing’s client for HooDoo 300, Chris Sublett. Chris is from San Mateo, California and is looking to test the waters of ultra-distance racing. She is an accomplished criterium racer and double century finisher. She is ready to challenge herself at this year’s HooDoo 300.
Since this is a relatively short event, we have a streamlined crew this time out. As always, a huge shout out to Michael Svihura, who is (still) an absolute electronics & logistics guru. I have developed a sound, sensible nutrition plan in keeping with Chris’s vegan diet and a logical race plan I am excited to deploy on Saturday. The van is nearly packed and ready to go. I am also grateful for D’vorah Rose, Chris’s wife, who completes our crew and brings tremendous support and massage skills.
A good race is (still) a courteous, safe race. We here at Finish Line Ultra Crewing base all we do on safety, professionalism, empathy, and kindness. We know local drivers may not be very excited to see us in our slow-moving follow van (of course, only between the hours of 2015-0645). A smile and a wave go a long way to hopefully ease their frustration and maybe even interest them in the race.
Chris Sublett has dedicated herself to training and is ready for HooDoo 300. We as crew are excited, motivated, and ready to help get her there!
See you out there!
-Tina
